Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion Treatment
A Clearer Way Of Life

Microdermabrasion, also referred to as โ€œparticle resurfacingโ€ or a โ€œpower peelโ€, is used to reduce sun damage, fine wrinkles and superficial acne scarring. Microdermabrasion uses a jet of fine crystals, which are sprayed onto the surface of the skin, removing its outer layers with little damage. This technique improves the appearance of the skin, providing a non-surgical treatment option for combating the signs of aging.

Microdermabrasion is safe for all skin types and colors. Common areas we treat is face, neck and upper chest (dรฉcolletรฉ).

The Treatment

Before any microdermabrasion you will need a consultation with our doctor. The treatment itself is done with a hand-held machine that is used to spray the skin with small crystals, which exfoliate its old, outer layers. The crystals are then vacuumed up and the skin “polished,” exposing fresher, more healthy-looking skin. There is no pain involved in this treatment and no anesthetic is needed.

Repeat Treatment

The average patient requires 6 treatments, each lasting approximately 30 minutes. These should be performed 1 โ€“ 2 weeks apart for optimal results. Depending on the area and condition being treated, you will start to notice an improvement after the second or third treatment. Further treatments are optional for maintenance or problem areas.ย This treatment is good to maintain as a routine procedure, since our skin will always develop new skin cells and give a fresher look. Old dead skin at the outer layer is what makes the skin looks dull. Out with the old, in with the new.

At our clinic we offer a short treatment to relax the skin when the microdermabrasion is done. We use a cool face mask to hydrate the skin which is optional at an extra cost. We recommend to stay out of the sun for the first 48 hours and to use at least SPF 30 sunblock afterward as protection. Your skin might feel tight and redness may occur.
